Los Angeles: A man was shot and killed Wednesday night in front of a liquor store in the 6400 block of South Vermont Avenue.
On April 18, 2007, at about 10:35 PM, Maurice Andre Hill, 41, was standing in front of the liquor store when two suspects in a dark colored vehicle drove up and shot him multiple times.
Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported Hill to a local hospital where he died from his wounds.
The suspect(s), vehicle and weapon are still outstanding. The motive for this incident is unknown, but it appears to be gang related.
Anyone with information is asked to call Operations South Bureau Criminal Gang/Homicide Group Detective Kevin Huff or Police Officer R. Garza at 213-485-1383. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
It is a sad commentary when the Chief of Police and Mayor refuse to provide support for the officers they assign to maintain order. Those injured in the park were those refusing to obey a lawful order to dispurse. Many of those demonstrating, I believe, are illegal aliens and should have been arrested.I would hope the police officer association stands with their members even if their Chief will not. SAD!

How do you know a lawful order was given to disperse and how many times was this so called order to disperse given before the trigger happy goons of the LAPD started beating reporters and firing projectiles at women and children?
Alack of proper planning on the LAPD's part is no reason to start shooting people.
This trigger happy GOON SQAUD needs to be disbanded.

As the Los Angeles police chief questions what happened at McArthur Park, the first question to ask is,where was the chief while such volitle event was occurring? It appears to me that he was shirking his duty.
