Los Angeles: A man armed with a .357 Magnum pistol confronted officers, was shot Monday evening.
On June 25, 2007, at about 8:30 PM, Southwest Area patrol officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon suspect call at 4031 South Hobart Boulevard, in South Los Angeles. The officers were advised that the suspect was armed with a pistol and had assaulted several victims.
The victims fled the residence and left the suspect alone inside. The officers established a perimeter around the residence and requested SWAT. Prior to the arrival of SWAT, the suspect walked out of the residence with the pistol and confronted the officers. The officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect was taken to California Hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, died a short time later. He has been identified as Aaron Borden, 26, of Los Angeles. His .357 Magnum pistol was recovered at the scene.
No officers were injured. Involved officers are John Flores, 32, 10 years with the Department, Officer John Davis, 27, 2 ½ years with the Department, and Officer Alfredo Ibanez, 36, 6 years and 10 months with the department.
Force Investigation Division personnel responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
Use a gun against the LAPD....don't pass go, don't goto jail, go straight to the Coroner!
I'm glad to see that the only person hurt was the criminal/murderer.

When are people gonna learn that pointing a weapon at the Police is not a good idea. Always be poite and say "sir" or "maam" but pointing a weapon is just bad manners.

I nominate these officers for the NAPO Top Cop award.
C'mon Chief Bratton, give these cops a week off on us (the citizens). Believe me, they deserve it.
