Washington, DC: The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) has announced the selection of Detective II John O’Toole, the Los Angeles Police Department’s most senior officer, as Officer of the Month for June 2007.
The year was 1953. President Eisenhower was in the White House, and Elvis Presley was beginning his career as a truck driver. Fresh from serving in the military during World War II, an LAPD recruit by the name of John O’Toole was embarking upon a law enforcement career that would span over half a century – and continues even today.
