Los Angeles: Los Angeles police are investigating a case where one man was fatally shot and the other stabbed during an altercation in North Hollywood early this morning.
Around 3:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a shooting call in the 5600 block of Cleon Avenue. When police arrived, they found Victor Baltazar, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso and Victor Santiago Sencion, 22, with a stab wound to his lower abdomen.
Baltazar was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he later died. Sencion was also transported to a local hospital where he’s being treated for his injuries and remains in custody.
According to investigators, Baltazar was standing outside of a home talking to relatives. Sencion didn’t agree with Baltazar being in the neighborhood and challenged him to a fight. During the altercation, Sencion pulled out a handgun and brutally shot Baltazar.
Detectives are in the initial stages of their investigation and are unclear how Sencion was stabbed.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call North Hollywood Homicide Detective Richard Wheeler at 818-623-4075. After hours and on weekends, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAW-FULL (529-3855).
I know the "Baltazar" family well, and just wish all kids could actually see, and feel the grief they are placing their parents through.
Thank you for writing the story, and bringing light to this senseless murder, and for others kids to see that this is real, and that what happened to Victor Baltazar is not seldom nor "Cool"
He is survived by a brothers and sisters, and 2 heart broken parents, who are still trying to make sense of this, I will be speaking to them, and try to bring out something good out of something so sad at the view.
Thank you.
Ms. Rosie Felix

I love the Baltazar Family and who is to say where we can stand and talk to our friends or family members. This is so senseless. The community should be outraged. It is so unfair, Victor was a hard working man he has a wife and a little son. He has a mother father sister brothers aunts uncles cousins people who love him. And because someone doesnot want you in a neighbor hood that does not belong to them... who do they think they are? Put yourselves in that situation as a community. The neighbor hood belong to Us people who pay taxes and work hard and have invested time into our neighborhoods. I hope that the community comes together in a positive way and will work with law enforcement to stop this kind of nonsence. I hope that parents know that this could of been thier child. I have never in my life witnessed so much pain as the mother of Victor Baltazar. His wife is devastated and his son has no father and all because someone didn't want him in "thier" neighborhood. WAKE UP FOLKS!!! And not to mention the shooters people. As much as I am grieving I can only imagine how this young mans mother must feel! I am sure he has family who loves him too. I hope we can all come togehter as a community and try to reach this generation of thugs. This is senseless...Lets not let Victors death be in Vain. if you have children, try to put your self in Victors mom and dads shoes. His wife's shoes. The siblings and relatives shoes. We will NEVER SEE VICTOR AGAIN. How sad is that!!! If you are a parent think about it. and lets stopp this senceless violence for the sake of everyone of us. It Is So Unfair, everyone loses!!! Two young lives destroyed. For what? Pride? Who wants to be in control of a neighborhood? Who wants to be a gang member? We love the LORD and I just have to pray even for these young men who chose to take my Brother-in-Laws life. Not because I am feeling it but because it is the Word of God. I have to pray for my enemies and set a good example for these mislead misunderstood misguided young men who do not have a clue about life or the value of it. My plea to the community is to get strong. Do what is right and end this before it happens to someone else.

I have 9 children of my own and my heart-aches for you and your family I try to put myself in this situation and it brings an ache to my heart and tears to my eyes. I will just like to say thank you to the officers who responded to this incident. They are very brave men/women who put thier lives at risk for the community on a daily basis. They never know what they are walking into completely until they get to the situation. They quickly apprehended this Victor Sensions who is an obvious threat to society and they have made it a little safer for the community. It seems like thier is always some evil to take the place of another evil but for the help and courage of Police Officers in our great USA are communities couldn't stand up to the evil around us. These men and women are very brave and deserve our help as a community to keep them informed of illigal activities & happenings so that we can all live safely and without fear from these senceless acts of violence on innocent people, that happen. Thank You for your courage and Bravery LAPD. I think the communities need to support thier officers and start standing up for what is Right Just and Fair for all of us and keep are officers informed so they can stop it befor it starts or escaltes in to tragedies like this. Thats about all I can say and God bless the family who lost thier son and Lord have mercy on the other guy. Sincerly pb de lv
