Man With a Gun Results in Officer Involved Shooting
Los Angeles: An armed 27-year-old man struggled with officers was shot in South Los Angeles.
On November 29, 2024 at about 9:30 p.m., Southeast Area Gang Enforcement Detail Officers saw the suspect, Marlon Hunt and several other individuals, consuming alcohol in public in front of a liquor store on the 9800 block of Main Street. The officers stopped to issue citations for the violations but Hunt and others quickly entered the liquor store to elude them.
The officers followed the suspects and detained them inside of the store. During the process of conducting a pat down search, Hunt resisted and struggled with the officers. Hunt attempted to arm himself with a gun which he had concealed on his waistband. At which time an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is described as stable. The officers were not injured.
Hunt’s loaded 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol was recovered at the scene.
The involved officers are Officer Jose Carias, 4 years with the Department, and Ivan McMillan, 6 years and 6 months with the Department.
Force Investigation Division is conducting the investigation.
Good Job guys, too bad he wasn't transported to Killer King, maybe they would have did the citizens of that community a service.

Outstanding job...see, the smallest of PC can lead to a geat arrest. If only the Monitor understood.

Here is my opinion (please give me a second to don my Sarcasm Hat).
I am sure that these young children were merely hanging out near the store for mutual protection against the bad people in the neighborhood. The 9's and 8's tattooed on their arms only reflect pride in their community. It is clear from the wording of this article that the police just wanted to stop some young black men and harass them, then, when they couldn't find anything, they planted evidence. This is shameful and the righteous young Mr. Hunt will need a lifetime of medical care and a large amount of money to get over this tragedy.
(taking Sarcasm Hat off..)
On a serious note, good job to the officers on getting another gun off the street. It is a shame that Mr. Hunt, rather than being put in prison for awhile, will most likely get probation and a fat settlement check from the spineless city legal team.

Good Job, Mac! Hope you're not riding the desk...you know how the department is with its officers... guilty until proven innocent.
