Hi, I've noticed that many of the command staff positions have been filled by lower ranking officials in an "acting" capacity, i.e., lieutenants on the present captain's list filling the vacant patrol captain position. Why can't this be done for the officers/detectives on the present sergeant's promotional list do the same. I know there would be many of us on the present sergeant's list who would be willing to do it; I hope that the department will not let many talented sergeant candidates die on the list, including myself.
