Congratulations to all the brass moving up the chain. I'm excited that promotions are finally coming back around.

Any word on detective promotions? Sergeants? Any P-III advancements?

I read the memo, but I still don't get how there's a promotional freeze for the rank and file but command staff are promoted every month. Even if the decision is made by some outside entity that the Chief can't convince to delay these promotions, maybe these fine graduates of the West Point Leadership class can practice some "leadership by example" and forgo their raises.....even our mayor gave something up.

So far, the only members of the department that have "share(d) sacrifice" are the ones who actually worked and kept the citizens of LA safe.

Where's the money for this coming from? Looks like all the emphasis is on the top. Standard LAPD practice, protect the brass, cut back on the guys doing all the work.

I bet morale at LAPD is less than stellar right now, and I understand why.
