Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department officers detained a burglary suspect, the next day the suspect died at a local hospital.
On June 13, 2011, at around 6:20 a.m., patrol officers from Topanga, Devonshire and Mission Divisions responded to the 15700 block of Lassen Street to conduct a burglary investigation. Pursuant to the investigation, 18-year-old Colby Baker was detained. Baker was placed in the rear of a police car pending transportation to the area station.
While seated in the police car Baker became ill and the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. He was transported to a local hospital and was admitted in critical condition.
On June 14, 2011, at around 3:15 a.m., Baker passed away at the hospital.
Force Investigation Division personnel responded to the hospital. The initial investigation determined Baker may have overdosed on narcotics. There was no force used by any officer involving Baker.
I am reading this article that ends with saying there was no force used by officers. How about lack of force? Force to take action and reconize the threat of this boys illness. To protect and to serve. What ever this boy was detained for doesnt matter at this point He was in the care of police and Iam wondering how long before he had medical attention. How long was he detained in the hot back seat of the cop car?My heart goes out to this boys family. Be strong and live on cuz we all gona die someday.take my advice i dont use it im a cry baby.Hope this is appropiate comment.

How about putting the blame where it belongs....on Colby Baker. HE was the one that took the narcotics. HE was the one that committed the burglary. As soon as the officers saw that he was ill they called the fire department. They took action as soon as it was needed. And by the way, at 6:20 in the morning it isn't hot.
You bleeding heart liberals show be blogging on the ACLU website, not this one if you care so much about the criminals. I wonder if Tamara and Anonymous would have so much sympathy for the burglar if it was their house that he broke into??
