- Police Commission President Richard Drooyan commended the Department for their handling of the removal of the Occupy LA demonstrators from City Hall Park last week. He said it was a reflection of planning, patience and respect on the part of the Department.
- Police Commission Vice President John Mack said he attended the Watts gang taskforce with the new Inspector General. He added it was a great opportunity to establish a relationship with the community.
- Police Commissioner Robert Saltzman stated he was privileged to observe Department activities from the command post last week. He said the Department’s actions spoke to the excellence of the Department across the board and the execution of the plan was quite extraordinary.
- Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger informed the Board Chief Beck provided a clear explanation on how he wanted the Occupy LA situation to end and the Department demonstrated what it is capable of. Chief Paysinger also stated he attended the Chief Kenny Garner Memorial Sign ceremony held over the weekend. He thanked Lieutenant Chris Waters for her efforts in getting a portion of the South Los Angeles 110 freeway named after him.
- The verbal presentation and update from the Commanding Officer and Community Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) representative regarding community initiated problem solving, crime strategies, and other programs and goals within the Wilshire area was given by Captain Eric Davis and Mr. Roy Amemiya. Captain Davis informed the Board one of the challenges the Wilshire C-PAB faced the last year was the exodus of members over to the new Olympic Division C-PAB. Since then the Wilshire C-PAB rebranded itself and focused on increasing membership. He also said social media sights such as Facebook and Twitter have become a staple of the Wilshire C-PAB. Captain Davis finished by saying the goals of the C-PAB remain the same this coming year.

- The Department’s report, dated November 16, 2011, relative to the recommendation for the Police Commission Unit Citation was approved.
- The Department’s report, dated November 18, 2011, relative to the request for approval of selected vendors to perform forensic DNA analysis, was continued for two weeks.
- The Department’s report, dated November 22, 2011, relative to the transmittal of the grant application and award acceptance for the 2009 Urban Areas Security Initiative Underwater Preventative Radiological/Nuclear Detection Program was approved and transmitted concurrently to the Mayor and City Council.
- The Department’s report, dated November 29, 2011, relative to the GED/CLEAR Supervisory Oversight Inspection (IAID No. 10-156) was received and filed.
- The Department’s report, dated November 29, 2011, relative to the Gang Related Crime Classification Inspection (IAID No. 11-122) was approved.
- The Department’s report, dated November 22, 2011, relative to the timekeeping and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) audit (IAID No. 11-053) was approved.
