Commission President Matthew Johnson opened the meeting and a quorum was established. Commissioner Matthew Johnson attended the recent Watts gang task force and was impressed with their continued commitment and productivity. The meeting proceeded to the Consent Agenda Items, all of which (1A through D) were approved with no discussion.
The next item of business was the Report of the Chief of Police. Chief Charlie Beck reported on changes to the senior command staff. Chief Beck acknowledged the expected retirement of Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger and the promotion of Deputy Chief Beatrice Girmala to Assistant Chief who will be assigned to Office of Special Operations. Assistant Chief Jorge Villegas will be assigned to the Office of Administrative Services, and Assistant Michel Moore will be assigned to Office of Operations and will become the new First Assistant Chief. Deputy Chief Girmala will be the highest ranking woman in the Department. Also being promoted, and unbeknownst to him, Commander Jon Peters has been elevated to Deputy Chief of Operations West Bureau. The Chief reported on several incidents that occurred in the past week. The first incident was a violent assault on a female from a suspect that pretended to be an Uber driver. Through DNA evidence the suspect was apprehended with the diligent collaborate work of Robbery Homicide Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Forensic Services Division. The Chief also report on an Officer Involved Shooting in the Hollenbeck Area, in which an 83 year old gentleman was rescued. Lastly, the Chief reported of a fatal traffic collision involving a 70 year old woman, a young girl, and a dog. The 70 year old woman and dog expired. This was a distracted driving incident. The driver waited for the police to arrive on scene. There are 9,895 sworn, 2,700 civilians, 60 chaplains, 372 volunteers, and 7,410 cadets.
The Commissioner’s praised the Chief of Police for his promotions. The Chief of Police as well as numerous Commissioner’s commended Deputy Chief Beatrice Girmala for her accomplishment’s.

I Matthew Preston Schubert think all of the above information from the rank increase is a set from good ideas.
These are to well a set for great ideas based upon the truth for the matter in each of the rank increases within the Department.
It sounds like we are once again in connection within ourselves as well as within the community as well.
