Human Trafficking of a 13 Year Old Girl Ends In Conviction
Lincoln Park Sexual Assault Suspect in Custody

Notes from the May 10, 2025 Weekly Police Commission Meeting

Commissioner President Matthew Johnson opened the meeting and a quorum was established. All Consent Agenda items were unanimously approved.

During the Report of the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger stated he, Chief Beck, and members of the LAPD had the opportunity and privilege to attend the funeral services of former Chief Willie L. Williams. In 1992 Willie L. Williams became the first African-American Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department during one of the most challenging times in the history of the Department following civil unrest. Assistant Chief Paysinger further stated he was pleased and proud to have served during Chief William’s administration because although crime was nearly at its highest point, it was the time when the LAPD's renaissance for community relations and community outreach first began. “It occurred on his watch!”

A verbal presentation and discussion relative to the Investigative Processes and Death Notification Procedures of Force Investigation Division was unanimously approved.
