Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Olympic Area detectives have
arrested three men who were responsible for the murder of a 23-year-old
woman in the Mid-City. On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, around 8:30 p.m., LAPD Olympic Area patrol officers responded to a stabbing call in the area of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. When they arrived they discovered a female suffering from an apparent stab wounds. LAFD paramedics transported the victim, a 23-year-old female, to a local hospital where she died during surgery. The LAPD Olympic Homicide detectives' investigation revealed that the victim was with a friend walking in the area when they saw three men who were holding signs and panhandling. The victim and her friend took photos of the men with their cell phones as they were holding their signs. A dispute ensued and ultimately the victim was stabbed in the torso. The suspects were described as three male whites in the late twenties and early thirties. The suspects were located near the scene arrested and are now in the custody of Olympic Area Homicide detectives. The identity of the victim is being withheld until immediate family is notified. A question: If the incident happened at Hollywood and Highland, why isn't this a Hollywood Division case? Why Olympic?
