Boyle Heights: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck Division are seeking the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect.
On May 15, 2017, at 2:20 p.m., a lone masked suspect entered a jewelry store, located in the
2200 block of E. Cesar Chavez Avenue, in the City of Los Angeles. The suspect pointed a black semi-auto handgun at the employees and warned them not to activate the alarm or he would detonate a bomb. The suspect placed an electronic charger on top of a glass display. He then directed the employees to place jewelry from the glass displays in a bag. The suspect fled on foot with the jewelry. Employees of the store were not injured.
Detective's investigation determined the suspect had entered the same jewelry store, posing as a customer, the previous day.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, dark complexion, 25-30 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. He stands approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs between 110-125 pounds.
