Notes from the December 5, 2024 Weekly Police Commission Meeting

Commissioner President Steve Soboroff opened the meeting and a quorum was established.

All Consent Agenda items were unanimously approved.

Executive Director’s Report, dated November 29, 2017, relative to the recommendation of a qualified vendor to provide Official Police Garage Towing and Storage services for Service Area 9 (RFP #17-980-005), as set forth. [BPC #17-0476] was approved.

Executive Director’s Report, dated November 21, 2017, relative to the request for approval of proposed change of majority ownership of Hanks’ Wilshire Tow, Inc., S & J Tow, from Steve Smith to Richard Reeves, contract no. C-129767, pursuant to Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 80.77.4(E)(2), as set forth. [BPC #17-0477] was approved.

Executives Director’s Report, dated November 30, 2017, relative to the write-off of uncollectable false alarm receivables for the period March 1, 2013, through December 31, 2013, as set forth. [BPC #17-0478] was approved.

Department’s Report, dated November 30, 2017, relative to the Preventable Traffic Collision Audit (AD No. 17-02) follow up, as set forth. [BPC #17-0471] was approved.

Department’s Report, dated November 29, 2017, relative to the approval of request for proposals for the Police Composite Artist Services for Los Angeles Police Department’s Detective Bureau, as set forth. [BPC #17-0474] was approved.

Department’s Report, dated November 22, 2017, relative to the request to approve an extension of the agreement between the City of Los Angeles and Tony Kaklamanos, for Police Composite Artist Services, as set forth. [BPC #17-0473] was approved.

Department’s Report, dated November 29, 2017, relative to the 3rd Quarter report to Board of Police Commissioners on Homelessness and Mental Illness, as set forth. [BPC #17-0472] was approved.

Assistant Chief Beatrice Girmala gave the Report of the Chief of Police. Chief Girmala extended her thoughts, support, and prayers for the first responders and residents of the Creek Fire in Sylmar. She provided a year to date update on Part I crimes.
