School Employee Arrested for Sexual Assault
Los Angeles: An employee of Sylmar High School was arrested for sexual assault in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles.
On September 14th around 1:00 p.m., 27-year-old Eduardo Colocho was arrested for sexual assault. It was alleged while employed as an educational aid and assistant coach at Sylmar High School he may have assaulted students.
Colocho has been employed at the school for the past seven years. The investigation is ongoing and will focus on the possibility there are multiple victims.
Colocho is being held on a $1,100,000 bail at Van Nuys Jail.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and have reason to believe there may be other victims.
Anyone with information is asked to call Juvenile Division at 213-847-5358. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
The identities of all callers will remain anonymous.
Colocho was my soccer coach when i was in 10 grade and i dont believe all the things that he is accused of. He was a real nice coach and he gave us all the respect. I still cant belive it. I will believe it until i hear it from his own words.

ive known ed colocho for four years he helped out in soccer and volleyball he was cool guy and from all of the office staff at sylmar he was one of the few that i feel i could trust to help me if i ever had a problem he never seemed to be the kind of person that would do anything like what he is being accused of and i dont believe that any of it is true

This is unbelievable...I hope that whoever is making these accusations can offer real proof because this young man has been an example to many. He has worked diligently in the community and with many professionals. He has been to my home and that of my family. He comes from a very wonderul family himself I would hate to know that he was set up or that this is a he said she said type of case. I want to know more about his case please send me info on any future arraingnments/heaings etc.

I spent the summer with good old Ed, and by no means did I find him to be a danger to any teenagers. He was fun, caring, and someone that the kids could always trust and talk to. If he did any of this "assaulting" he was probably drunk or high which makes it competely fine. I love this man, if he ever put the moves on me, I would not complain to the authorities, but rather cherrish it for all its worth.

i cant believe this until i hear it from him as well- ed has always been an extrememely rational and good guy, he taught me to always be smart and respectful while still having fun, he was always concerned with what was right and what was wrong and this tyoe of thing doesn't seem to fit his personality or anything else about him for that matter- i'd like to know more about the case, specifically evidence as this could very well be an instance of an attention hungry high school student

no way did ed do this. he was my councelor at summer camp, and he was just a fun laid back guy. never did anything harmful to us, and im sure many others would agree with me. he is definitely innocent

I agree with Zach. Colocho was the resident counselor for my floor this past summer at the University of Michigan. He is a great human being with a great heart and a genuinely cool guy. He would never do anything like this intentionally.

While I'm sure all of you have strong personal feelings about this person, someone has made allegations of a criminal nature. I'm sure many people who commit such intimate crimes don't disclose that kind of thing to friends and family. Particularly if it was an isolated incident. The inquiry is only asking to make sure there aren't any other victims involved. If there isn't, well, then there isn't.
The comments I read so far remind me of the little league photos that gangster familys post about their ganster kid who just got shot by the police. No one can imagine that someone you know and like could do such a thing, until it happens to you, or your kid. Then darn skippy you would want an investigation and justice. You wouldn't care if this guy walked on water.
I can tell you from experience, it happens. Not that often, but it happens...and when it does it is THE most traumatic event that a child would ever have to endure. The criminal justice system is hardest on children, regardless of what you believe, and one of the most difficult to prosecute as well.
So before you all jump on the bandwagon and pass judgement on the victim being a liar, you had better find out if you haven't been had by a wolf in sheeps clothing first. As I said before, if he didn't do it, then he didn't do it. But if he did, you should be prepared to reconsider everything that you took for granted, the security of your children and home and at school.
Do you honestly believe that this guy would just say in casual conversation, "yeah I just molested this kid, what's for lunch?" Get real. Look hard...some person said it was perfectly ok if he had been drunk or high, and that if he put the moves on them, they would "Cherish it forever" ? That person has serious issues and should probably seek professional help. There are kids out there like that who actually BELIEVE THIS! Wake up parents. You better talk to your kids. Take this as an opportunity to know what your kids are thinking, or what they would be willing to give up. Oh say, like their childhood via their innocence.

the previous poster has some good points, and yeah, the person who said that if he was drunk or high wen he did it that it would be ok, that person needs serious help.
but ed really was just a genuinely nice guy. i realize that this kind of stuff can happen to anyone, but i really do not believe that ed would ever even think of doing something like this. and until i hear that there is substantial evidence proving these accusations, i am going to assume that he never laid a finger on them. innocent until proven guilty

or in them, maybe?

Ed definately did not do this. He was my counselor as U mich over the summer and he was probably the coolest guy there. Big ed is way innocent and whoever says otherwise is just hungry for attention.

This guy was my baseball coach when i was a kid, he even took me to the movies once, i always knew something was up, especially when we meet up again at Sylmar High. I was a student and he was a staff member, we got along great talking about memories from the past and i trusted him, its pretty weird to know that someone who i was close too as a child could have done these horrendous acts, but you can never really trust anybody.

In responce to Marie's comment on 11/7/2006. If you think it is okay to "assult" a child or teenager and it is okay becasue you are drunk or high Then I think that you need your head examined, but then again you could probably only get a big fat child molester.
Hopefully nothing terrible ever happens to you or if you have children nothing terrible happens to your kids like it did to the kids that came in contact with Eduardo, but if it does i hope the molester is drunk or high because it would be okay with you. I hope that you Cherrish every moment with Eduardo when you visit him in prison, and hopefully the inmates take very good care of him and all of his needs.

i always believed that guy was behind something he asked one of the soccer players if he can have a photo of his posture and the kid messing around gave it to him. Than supposively Colocho lost it and he wanted another one. Thats what I heard those are the rumors going on in school by some of the soccer players. I believe he should go to h.ll if he did that its unfair to ruin someones reputation and life by raping them. I hope he rots in jail.

I still don't buy it. I believe that he probably pled guilty because when your hefty and Mexican against the L.A.P.D, you don't really have much of a shot, especially in a child molestation case like this.
Posted by: Daniel W. | June 04, 2025 at 08:24 PM
so what exactly did he do?

Daniel -
A) He didn't plead guilty as of right now, if he had, all of the posts right above this would be useless and as such probably not shown.
B) Your theory that just because someone is "hefty and Mexican" means that they "don't really have much of a shot" is unbelievable. Please read the rest of the posts on this website, and you will see that at least 9/10's of the suspects in the crimes are "Mexican," or Hispanic to be PC (Politically Correct, Daniel, not a Personal Computer). This isn't racist, this is a pure fact stemming from a majority Hispanic population.
C) Your comment "against the L.A.P.D." is very telling. To inspirit your argument I only say this, criminals will always be "against" the LAPD, that is why they are cops.
Thank you to the investigators who pursued this case, and I hope the "Coolest" and "Genuinely Nice" guy is brought to justice.
