I know every situation is different , but why can't this be done more often? Officers should shoot to disarm/disable not kill. Ive read about too many incidents where suspects are brandishing knives and officers respond with lethal force. Yes their life is being threatened but cmon it's a knife not a gun. The time it takes for the person with a knife to attempt to hurt any officer , he will be on the ground in seconds. If reflexes are not fast enough maybe more training should be provided.. just saying!

Ms. Lopez, until you stand in front of a person armed with a knife you can't know what you're talking about. Only on TV do cops shoot weapons out of people's hands. In reality, severe cuts and punctures will take place before and IF the suspect will be controlled. How much salary would you require to get cut up and maimed, so that the idiot who decided to use a knife can be tucked away in a cell unhurt?

You can't pay me enough to get cut or stabbed.

This is a great example of who sits on many LA juries. Between ingrained opinions in the populace like this and judges preventing pertinent information into trials, the city of LA will be paying out millions in lawsuits for years to come.

Ms Lopez,
what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent comment were you close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone here is now dumber for having read your comment. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
