Los Angeles: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in New Orleans, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Robert Durst yesterday afternoon for the December 2000 murder of Susan Berman.
The long term investigation was conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Los Angeles and New York, Westchester County District Attorney's Office and New York State Police.
Berman's body was discovered in her West Los Angeles home on Christmas Eve 2000. Since that time the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division has conducted an investigation into Ms. Berman's death.
As a result of investigative leads and additional evidence that has come to light in the past year, investigators have identified Robert Durst as the person responsible for Ms. Berman's death.
Investigator's in concert with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Major Crimes Section secured an Arrest warrant for Robert Durst for the murder of Susan Berman and arrested Mr. Durst on Saturday, March 14, 2015, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Arrangements will be made to seek Mr. Durst extradition from Louisiana to California.

I am curious, seems the most crucial evidence was the "cadaver" letter, and the writing on an envelope Durst sent to Berman, the handwriting being identical. THAT letter was in Berman's house when an investigation was done on Berman's death....and not one LAPD detective was capable of putting it together..then ?

glad they finally caught him but why postings on fb saying he's dead? very confusing! what's going on? Hope he gets the max if he's alive to because got to go on living his life after he took someone else' life.

I have sn unsolved cold case of a sister missing since 1973 -in Atlanta, Georgia. It's very sad never to know closure and to this day, no one knows why a young girl can disappear off the face of the esrth.
