Officer Involved Shooting in Van Nuys

**The following information is based on a preliminary, ongoing investigation which continues to evolve as investigators interview witnesses, review physical and electronic records, and analyze forensic evidence. The Department's understanding of the incident may change as the investigation continues and additional evidence is collected and analyzed.**

Los Angeles: On August 27, 2015, around 11:16 p.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to a radio call of a "neighbor dispute" in the 14600 block of Valerio Street.

When the officers arrived they met with the person reporting, who directed them to the house next door. The officers made contact with the suspect in that residence and a physical altercation ensued. During that altercation, the suspect armed himself with a metal object and struck both officers in the head and shoulder area, eventually leading to an officer involved shooting involving Police Officer Jonathan Stringer, Serial No. 39465.

Los Angeles Fire paramedics responded and pronounced the suspect dead at scene. Both officers were transported to a local hospital, where they were treated for injuries sustained in the altercation.

Force Investigation Division investigators responded to the incident and will conduct a thorough investigation of the officer involved shooting. The investigation will ultimately be reviewed by the Chief of Police, the Office of the Inspector General and Board of Police Commissioners for compliance with the Departments use-of-force policy, which states that an officer's use-of-force actions must be objectively reasonable. Additionally, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Justice System Integrity Division will conduct a comprehensive review of the facts of the officer-involved-shooting.

I AM BEING HARRASSED 24/7 BY WHAT CAN ONLY BE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THEY BREAK INTO MY ROOM AT NIGHT, GET INTO MY CAR AND INFILTRATE MY INTERNET AND PHONE. WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IS NADA. IT HAS BEEN 10 YEARS. THEY ARE NOW MERELY OBSESSED WITH HARRASSING ME, THEY ARE NOW MEAN AND HATEFUL. I READ THAT A DYNAMIC OCCURS WHEN A TARGET IS STALKED - THEY WANT TO THEN DESTROY THAT PERSON. THEY ALSO SEEK TO DESTROY BECAUSE THEY FAILED AT FINDING ANYTHING WRONG. I AM AN INNOCENT BUSINESS REPORTER AND THEY CAN'T HANDLE THAT. THE D.A. WILL HOPEFULLY TAKE CARE OF THEM AND ERADICATE THEM FROM THE SYSTEM. I CANNOT THINK OF ANYONE OR ANY OTHER ENTITY THAT HAS THE CAPACITY TO CARRY OUT THE DIRTY DEED OF TRYING TO DESTROY ME. THE LAW WILL DESTROY THEM, JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL. AND HOPEFULLY THE PUBLIC WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS ABUSE OF AN INNOCENT DISABLED NOW SENIOR WHOSE LIFESTYLE WAS STOLEN AND IS NOW A PAUPER. GUESS THEY FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT. I KNOW OF NO INDIVIDUAL THAT CAN PULL OFF WHAT TAKES PLACE. IT IS BIZARRE AND COMPLETELY INTRUSIVE. I CAN POINT TO A CASE THAT CONGRESS TOOK SERIOUSLY - SAME KIND OF ANTICS.
