To the Men and Women of the Los Angeles Police Department:
With the passing of 2014, I am hopeful that 2015 will be a good year for everyone. I hope for peace, prosperity, and for time to enjoy life and everything it brings all of us. 2014 was an especially challenging year for the LAPD, one we will never forget after losing three beloved brothers, Roberto Sanchez, Chris Cortijo and Nick Lee.
I know that all around the world, this is a time for family to gather and welcome a New Year. Throughout 2014, I have seen the many important contributions which LAPD officers and civilian employees have made to make our communities safe. Your sacrifices have been greatly appreciated and have not gone unnoticed and I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work.
As we approach a New Year, my commitment to the residents of Los Angeles remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for everyone in our community.
Special thanks to those working tonight to keep us safe and for the sacrifices you make everyday. God Bless you, your families and the people we serve.
God Bless the Los Angeles Police Department,
Charlie
Thanks for the message Charlie. Keep on keeping on--for us, with us and we stand strong together. Community strong with understanding.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT.
