Commissioner President Matthew Johnson opened the meeting and a quorum was established. Consent Agenda items were unanimously approved. There were no police commission comments.
Chief Beck reported there is an 1.7% increase in Part I crime compared to last year. Largest increase is in gang homicides in Central and South Bureau with a reduction in West and Valley Bureau. There are 9,907 sworn police officers, 2,693 civilian employees, under 400 LAPD Reserve officers, 372 specialist volunteers, 60 chaplains, and 7,410 LAPD Police Cadets.
Verbal Presentation and update from the Commanding Officer and Community Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) representative regarding community initiated problem solving, crime strategies, and other programs and goals within the Hollenbeck Area.
Department’s Report, dated March 24, 2016, relative to the Confidential Informant Package Audit as set forth, approved the Department’s report and Executive Summary.
Department’s Report, dated March 25, 2016, relative to the grant award acceptance for the Fiscal Year 2015-16 AB 109 Funds – Public Safety Realignment, as forth, approved the Department’s report and transmitted concurrently to the Mayor and City Council.
Department’s Report, dated March 23, 2016, relative to the grant award for the 2015 Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force Program, as set forth, approved the Department’s report and transmitted concurrently to the Mayor and City Council.
